My Endorsements

I am delighted that Emma has earned a place on the Party's candidate list. The Party wants to be more representative of modern Britain, to have more women and young people in parliament. So we need to elect people like Emma.

In addition to her law degree and her experience in the profession, she has an invaluable political track record. For two years she was Press Officer for myself and my colleague Chris Heaton-Harris MEP, and she proved adept at campaigning and getting our message into the media. Since then she has had two years working as my Political Adviser in the European parliament. She knows how the place works and would hit the ground running.

She is a committed Conservative. Above all, I know that like me she supports trade and cooperation in Europe, but opposes political union and the Revised Constitution. We have campaigned together across the East Midlands for a referendum. She strongly supports that Party's position that key powers – for example on employment and social legislation – should be brought back from Brussels to Westminster. I should be delighted to welcome her as an MEP colleague in the European parliament.

The Tory Party is really making headway when people like Emma McClarkin offer themselves as candidates for the party. She is immensely bright, practical, sensible, beautiful and to top it all is a true blue Conservative. What more could the party ask for? If I were on a selection committee she would be at the very top of my list and the constituency that selects her will have a very able candidate indeed.

Having worked with Emma for a number of years I appreciate the opportunity to be able to endorse her candidacy for any forthcoming elections. I have worked very closely on organisation, both social and political, and I have found Emma to be very first class in her approach to all her work. It will give me great pleasure to be able to work with Emma at some stage during her campaigning and I am one of many who will be looking forward to seeing her either in the House of Westminster or Parliament in Brussels. I wish her well.

Having known and worked with Emma for several years, I was delighted to be told that she was looking to pursue and further her political career.

Having relied on her skills as the advisor to Roger Helmer on several occasions, she has always been efficient and knowledgeable. Furthermore, she has helped me in the High Peak with campaigning during several elections.

She operates with a cheerful 'can do' manner, willing to help in any way to ensure that every vote is cast and every opportunity maximised. Throughout all however she retains an acute political mind, and a thorough knowledge of the political issues and challenges of the day.

Emma McClarkin's candidacy deserves the greatest support from all corners. It has been my privilege to have worked with Emma on EU issues that focus on accountability and transparency of the Brussels bureaucracy. Her leadership, political skills and understanding of real issues are admirable traits. Emma's conservative credentials and her extraordinary experience in serving citizens is most commendable.

Emma McClarkin is not only an outstanding role model but a principled leader dedicated to advancing economic freedom. British citizens deserve an energetic, knowledgeable and committed leader that will join forces with like-minded leaders in Westminster and The European Parliament focusing on free trade rather than redundant and costly regulation and strongly oppose political union that undermines individual freedom. A vote for McClarkin will be a vote for freedom and to re-gain greater oversight and influence in EU affairs!

I first met Emma in the European Parliament over three years ago. Since then, I have continuously been impressed by her principled approach, intelligence and sensibility. She might not realise this, but Emma has inspired me to move forward in my own political career. She is not just a contemporary of mine – she is a role model.
